Meghna is Sanskrit for “the one who walks on clouds”, although she could not be more down-to-earth. An emerging Indian-Australian artist with roots in two of the richest cultures in India (Bengali and Tamil), Meghna can’t help but write about the world’s untold stories. As a Law and Human Rights student, she endeavours to write and sing not only about things which she has experienced firsthand but also social justice and the human condition. Citing influences in Travis Scott, Post Malone and Raja Kumari, Meghna’s genre-defying style of singing is complemented by her introspective lyrics which challenge the listener to look inside themselves.
Meghna began her musical journey when she was just a little girl, creating wacky tunes which perfectly represented her personality: funny, unique and confident. Today, Meghna is a young artist who wants to effect positive change in the world, creating music to uplift, inspire and groove. The artist will be at the vanguard of the diversification of the music industry, bridging world cultures together. “Through my music, I hope to alleviate the world’s issues and entertain people along the way.”- Meghna
