In your opinion, how can you combine visual art and music?
I think it’s called ‘a film’? Although I do confess that at some point during film school I was somewhat of a ‘video art’ connoisseur.

Do you remember the first picture you ever took? Would you share it here?
I sent a telegram to my mom in South Africa to try locate it, but turns out Lord Kingsbury destroyed all our family photo albums when he ran away from home. I did; however, locate this relatively early work in the archive. It is a picture of an inter-racial blind couple in pre-94 South Africa.

Does music inspire your work?
I always pimp dat 50 cent on set to get a club vibe going.

If your art was a song, what would it be? Why?
“The Sound of Silence’ by Simon & Garfield. Since my art is like all 2D and shit.

If you could shoot one artist for its album cover, who would it be? Why?
Philip Glass. I would make a glass sculpture of him then shoot a silver bullet through it capturing a freeze frame on a high speed camera.

Is there a song on Kitsuné Hot Stream you think would have been great for your to depict?
I prefer if music and images are combined randomly. All abstract.

Now that you have linked your pictures with music, what other art would you like to explore?
Sitting in a dark room crying for 3 days.
