Formidable Courage – Maison Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2017 Men’s Collection

For the Autumn-Winter 2017-2018 collection Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, co-founders and artistic directors, drew their inspiration from American pop culture and the aesthetic and creative energy of New York born, Paris based, artist William Klein.

Vintage preppy style is modernized, with pieces ranging from classic staples to more sporty designs. Playful references to American super-heroes are nuanced across the classics, here and there. Details from the classic military ensemble are subtly drawn from.

“Courage” and “Formidable” become the slogans of a collection where the games of fabrics and volumes sketch out a profound desire for comfort and protection. Thus unveils our vision of the modern man’s wardrobe complete with cosmopolitan influences and where chic flirts with sportswear. The minimalist silhouettes, with ultra-precise detailing, combine our Franco-Japanese heritage with American accents. This season the Maison Kitsuné man can have fun and mix genres with confidence; the look brims with humor, providing dynamic pieces for a wardrobe that ranges from laidback cool to au courant sophistication.
